Sweet Fifteen so far is a great book! It is about a girl named Rita who is making a Quinceanera dress for a girl named Stefanie. Stefanie lives with her mom because her dad had just died recently. Her dad had always wanted a Quinceanera for Stefanie, ever since she was born but even though her dad died her godfather is stepping in to take the place of her dad. Her
godfather is paying for the dress that Rita is making. There is Something about Rita that only she knows it is that she is in love with Stefanie's godfather. That is all I have read so far but as I read on I will tell you what happens.

Joey Pigza swallowed the key Griselda

This book is about a boy that no matter what he tries he can't sit still.He has his house key and it becomes a big problem,he swallows it. First he got hurt sharpening pencils,he thought that his finger might look cool all nice and sharpened. He has little accidents until he cuts a girl's nose. he gets  sent to special-ed and he recovers with a patch. Now he can sit still!

I'm reading a book called cracker it talks about a dog that is happy with his owner Willie but has to give him away.They give the dog away to the army to go to vietnam there they are training him to catch smells and find guns. 

The cat who turned on and off-Garrett

Right now I am reading the first Cat Who..... book in the series. Qwilleran had arrived in a town called Junktown to write a story about it. It's called junktown because all the stores mainly sell antiques. Qwill is at an auction to see what they have and to find Mrs. Cobb to see if he can get an apartment for rent. He finally got one from C. C. Cobb (not Mrs. Cobb) and he is staying there. Later on he is still trying to figure out why Andy Glanz died because of the accident. Qwill doesn't believe it was an accident. A few nights later C. C. goes scrounging for more things he can sell but while he is at this house, who many other antique dealers go to get things to sell, is found the next morning dead in the upstairs bedroom. While Qwill and Mrs. Cobb are there the police come (because their cab driver told the police two people were being dropped off at an abandoned house and you're not supposed to go to this house and scrounge) and ask why Qwill and Iris (Mrs. Cobb) are there. The police knew that C. C. was already dead. So Qwill is thinking this was a murder and is investigating it...............

Paola-A friend at midnight

This book is kind of sad. Its about a girl who has a step-family. The story starts off when her biological father drops off her real little brother  at the airport just like that telling him he was not the son he had in mind. The girl has to go and rescue her little brother carrying her 23 month old half-brother. Micheal (the abandoned kid at the airport) tells Lily (older sister) not to tell anyone what happened. Lily then hates her father and Micheal stays silent. The Rebeca, the oldest sister, comes and plans a wedding and invites the dad.Right now in the book everyone is questioning what really happened at the airport , why did Micheal come home? The book just keeps getting better and better.

Taylor-The Journal of Patrick Seamus Flaherty

My book got my attention because, it was about a solier in the Vietnam war. I love learning about wars and so it looked really good and it is. So far I have learned that Patrick is from Boston and I guess a pretty good football player. He is stationed on the Hill they call 881s. Everyone has a nickname and he isn't getting along with Bebop all the time. Especialy since he got his nickname the Mighty Mouse from Bebop. Hollywood was sounding really popular when I was reading. But, I guess it is more danerous just digging a trence for safery then we think we you hit and detonate an old dud from the fights to win the 881s. He was really out of it seeing as his last words were looking at what was left of his "What a mess". How will they tell all four of his girl friends what happened to Hollywood. How will Patrick survive on 881s without his bestfriend in his platoon on the hill with him. Better yet how will he survive the war seeing stuff like that everyday. Lets hope he finds a way.

Paola - The second bend in the river

             At the end of the story the girl who was afraid of the Indian actually befriends him. As time goes on they both fall in love, so much that the Indian asks her to marry her. She says yes , but only if he lives as a white man . Of course he says no but they will always remain friends. Its a good thing they didn't marry or else she would be a widow, he died in a fight . The book was really good , it had romance , suspense, adventure, and more. The author of this amazing book is Ann Rinaldi. I really recommend the book.

Fairest

Aza has been in the castle as queen Ivi's lady-in-waiting, for a while now. She doesn't enjoy it like she thought she would. Ivi doesn't have a great singing voice and she heard Aza illusing in the garden. Now that she is lady in waiting she has to illuse for Ivi. Ijori doesn't know and Aza isn't sure she likes that. But, if she tells she will be thrown in prison and her parents in licences will be revoked.

I read a book called Maximum ride schools out forever .It talks about humans that have been kidnapped and have been put to tests that made them able to fly.They are searching for their parents and have to overcome their enemies the Erasers.

The sisterhood of the traveling pants_(Justice)_

It's about four girls who find a pair of pants and the pants are supposed do great things make special things happen. They all go on vacation except for one named Tibby she has to stay home and work over the summer. They mail the pants to each other after their week is up. It's like a system and it goes over and over until they all come home.

Lemony Snicket-Garrett

I am reading the first book of The Series Of Unfortunate Events. So Violet, Klaus, and Sunny (the main characters) Are trapped in the clutches of Count Olaf. He wants to marry Violet so he can get their enormous fortune. Klaus likes to read a lot and found out that is what Olaf wants to do. But to mke sure she does that he has put Sunny in a bird cage dangling from a 30 foot tower. So Violet had to marry Olaf. After it was over Olaf told everyone that he did marry Violet to get the Baudelaire Fortune but when Violet signed the legal papers she did it in her left hand. Not the one she writes with and to be legal it has to be in your hand you normally write in so the marriage was not legal and Olaf was so mad he left with the rest of his goons and were never seen for months.

Fairest caught my attention because of the cover picture and the name. Fairest it just sounds like a fairy tale and I love fairy tales.So Fairest is about a girl named Aza. Aza lives the kingdom of Aythoria. Aythia is a kingdom of singing. When the companion of the Duchess is ill and is unable to attend the royal wedding, Aza, is asked to join her. Aza isn't consider pretty. So when she gets there and starts to fall for the prince and she finds he has a slight crush on her as well, it is a shock to her. What the prince doesn't know is Aza, isn' a lady she is merely the innkeepers duaghter.

I am currently reading Triss, a novel by Brian Jacques. It is about a young squirrel named Triss. she has just escaped from slavery and is running from the evil princess Kurda. 

I just finished the book. It was a good book. 

Isaac-The Brethren

So far all i have read is that the main characters are having a court come to order in the prison they are serving their sentence at, and that they have white, powdered wigs on. Now i have read that they are doing a con-man type deal from their prison and are making money by the hundred thousands. They have about 20 guys who thy trapped in their con-man game, and each one was carefully targeted, because either they or their parents made millions of dollars, meaning it was easy to squeeze 100000 dollars out of them. The people who were conned cannot call the police because that would cause them to reveal the dark secret that the brethren tricked them into telling. Its kind of a ransom type book.

The book I am reading is about a boy named Brian whose girlfriend and her family were shot when they came home from somewhere. Brian thinks its his fault that they got shot because he didn't let Amanda play basketball with him before they left to go where they went.

Katelin/Lion Boy The Chase

I'm reading Lion Boy The Chase ,and so far its good it leads off were the last book starts but i haven't got very far into it so maybe I will blog more about it later

Well I continued reading , and its gotten pretty interesting. Charlie and the lions got of the train and take a gondola to the kings house. On the way there Charlie learns that lions were a great symbol back in late Venice. Everywhere you look in Venice you see a lion. Also Charlie learns that the water he is on is going to become a museum.  Thats right in Venice they are making an under water museum. They put huge plastic tubes in the muddy bottom of the river that people can walk through. Well so far this is pretty much all but I'll bet there will be more interesting things to read about.

So this book is getting really good. Charlie has escaped and so have his parents.Charlie's parents are in Paris looking for him. Charlie had to leave Primo  behind because he wanted to stay with the people of Venice. Anyway Charlie is on his way to africa and so is Rafi. So it will be interesting to see what happens next. Oh by the way Moccomo's girlfriend Mable is Charlie's aunt. Charlie's parents end  up the same place as Mabel and Charlie ,but Charlie doesn't know it. Moccomo finds out that Mabel is in town and goes to visit her. He also asks her to marry him.Mabel doesn't want to, but goes along with so she can help find Charlie. Even though she doesn't want to let on that she cares. At the same time Anabe and Magneland are watching from the shadows. They think Mabel is betraying them and doesn't care about their family.Meanwhile the lions and Charlie are in a shelter ,but Moccomo knows were it is and is going to try to capture them. Rafi hasn't shown up yet. I'm almost finshed with the book so I can't wait to see what happens next.

*Kelby--Someone Like You

***Right now I'm reading a book called "Someone Like You". So far it has been good. A girl named Halley was at Sisterhood Camp, a camp that her mother who is a therapist insisted she go to, her best friend Scarlett called her to tell her that Micheal Sherwood had died in a motorcycle accident. Micheal was a friend of their's and had once been Scarlett's boyfriend. He was the boy at their high school that fit in in every group. After Halley got that phone call she called her mom and asked her to come pick her up. Her mom wasn't too happy about that, but she came and got her. Halley went over to Scarlett's house, which was eighteen steps away from hers. The two of them had counted that over the years that they had been best friends. The next morning  Halley and Scarlett went to the funeral. They saw alot of people crying and Halley didn't think that it was such a good idea after all to come. Thats how far I've gotten and Im excited to read more!

Well I have already finished this book, it was a really good book. At first it could be not that interesting but once you get into it its really good. Its about a boy named Steven (aka Peasant) who has a little brother named Jeffrey. Steven basically had a normal life, an annoying little brother, had a crush on the hottest girl in school but then one day something happens that changes his whole life.At first it all starts out as nose bleed but then ends up being something bad and life threatening.

It talks about a boy who is a spy his name is alex rider,and is sent to go investigate a private school.They try to investigate the school and Alex discovers what he is looking for but can't escape.

The Golem's eye (Justice)

The Golem's Eye is one out of three books in the series. It's about people in London and they use magic to solve there problems. There's this boy named Nathaniel and he's 14 and calls himself John Mandrake so nobody will notice him. In the first book he worked for a magician who summoned demons and other myhtical creatures. He read one of the summoning books and summoned a demon named Bartimaeus and made himdo his dirty work. He made the demon steal an amulet. I hope that something interesting happens in this book like the last book. Maybe he'll summon the demon again I hope he does because so far the book is interesting.

Taylor-New Moon

New Moon is the second book in the Stephanie Meyer, vampire love saga. So far there has been the usual love, fights, and friends. Edward's family moves in the beginning of the book and you just know they come back. I am half way though it and losing hope. I want Bella to stop mopping about Edward and date Jake.  Bella has stayed out of trouble so far in the book. She has gone out with friends spent lots of time with Jake. Well she was spending lots of time with Jake until Sam Uley came into the picture. Jake used to hate this guy, so what changed. Will Jake and Bella ever hang out with Sam watching Jakes every move? Or is this the end of a great friend ship?

You'll have to read the book to find out. 

Paola - The 5th of March

This book I'm reading is historical fiction. It's about the Boston Massacre and a girl named Rachel Marsh. She is an indentured servant to John Adams, who as you know, was a patriot. However, she  closely befriends a British soldier. She is very confused because she likes him but feels she shouldn't because she would be a traitor to Mr. Adams. So far she has been the soldier's "friend" but has refused to accept she likes him. I think the book is awesome because it is based on a true event, has romance,  and has a mix of adventure and suspension. Plus the author is Ann Rinaldi , who is an excellent author. People should read this and any book by her. 

Paola-Hans Brinker or the silver skates

Right now in the book the rich snobby kids have traveled very far and have returned home. Hans' dad is now even more sick than before, he is going to get cured though. I am right before the chapter where he finally is cured and is back to normal. The book gets better and better!

This book just keeps getting better and better. I am reading into more and more every day. Bella and Jake are still have the occasional fights. Charlie (Bella's dad) still isn't to happy about her dating Edward. But, now that she is off her grounding she is spending as mush time with him as she can. Edward is getting a little more used to the fact that Bella's best friend is a were wolf. So Bella is having her occasional trips down to La Push. The reservation where Jake and the other were wolfs live. So I am very excited to read on and find out what will happen next!!!!

Paola -Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates

The book I'm currently reading is about two poor siblings, Hans and Gretel Brinker. They are very poor because their father had an accident and their mother doesn't earn enough money. They really like to skate , but can't very well because their skates are made out of wood. Fortunately for them, they get some money to buy some new skates and get invited to a race. Meanwhile, some rich kids have a journey to Amsterdam (the  whole story takes place in Holland) . The rich kids are very mean to Hans and Gretel. So far overall, the story is about Hans and Gretel and how some rich , snobby kids are mean to the because they are poor, while Hans and Gretel suffer because they can't accomplish their dreams because of their poorness. It's kind of sad.

Lion Boy /Katelin

This book is really great. It is about a boy who can talk to cats. And his parents disappear. So he's on a journey to try and find them.  But what he thought what happened to his parents is wrong. His parents were actually kidnapped and are on a submarine to who knows where. Charlie the boy is on a circus ship to Paris and thinks he'll find his parents there.  Ill have to read on to find out to see what happens next.

I actually finished the book and at the end charlie made a deal with the lions that he would help them escape to Africa so they would be free. So Charlie sets up a plan to get rid of Moccomo for the night of the show. He set up a date with an old girlfriend and he was gone for the night. As soon as the show got out that night he and the lions escaped and got on  a train to Venice.On the train Charlie meets a king . King Boris of Bulgaria is Charlie;s new friend and helps find out information on Charlie;s parents ,and why they were kidnapped. The train they were on got stuck in  a snow storm and so the train is stopped and that's when the book ends. Lion Boy is a trilogy and I'm reading the second book,Lion Boy The Chase and my guess is that there will be more adventures to come.

Alam-(RED RIDER'S HOOD)

Red likes riding in his blood colored mustang, he lives in a tough urban neighborhood. He likes riding in his mustang and keeping safe from gangs especially the Wolves. Also Crypts, an all girl gang, When they steal bread (money) he get off the sidelines and joins the Wolves to learn how to beat them. He doesn't feel scared he feels good and powerful. The Wolves like to bite people for blood then on full moons you turn into a wolf. He wanted to defeat them but now he thinks of them as friends. His grandma is a wolf hunter and he was training to kill them but at the next full moon do you think he will kill them or join them

This book has some pretty ridiculous stories in it. Like I said it has approximately thirty-five tales inside . I love this book! You really have to read it! Some of the tales are no thinking kind of stories, and i like to not be able to think! You will have to look for this book!    NN

Garrett-The Cat Who Moved A Mountain

So far in the book I'm reading, Jim Qwilleran (the main character) and his two siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, have been traveling to The Potato Mountains to an old Inn that's now a house. Qwill is renting it for three months, but when he got there it was very gloomy. The rooms' wallpaper was gray and the outside was a gray-green. When he walked in he also found many paintings, kitchen-ware, and fireplace equipment was gone. So after his first night he decided to go to Spudsboro, the town in the valley of the Potatoes. Qwill went to an art show to by some things to try and spruce up the old gray house. The house was also the place where the original owner was killed. So Qwill tries to figure it out by lying and saying he is writing a biography of J. J. Hawkenfield (the guy who got murdered. After a while Koko keeps tilting a picture of the Potato Mountains that Mr. Beechum painted for J. J. and after enough times Qwill finds a big iron key and kept it in and old wooden hunt board. Later Qwill finds that behind the hunt board that there is a door. So, he moves it and finds that J. J. had a secret office but a lot of things have been taken out. However, he finds a pad that J. J. kept notes on. A day later Qwill decides to go and see the big waterfall behind Amy's Lunch Bucket and when he got up to the top he leaned over too far to look at something and fell in the river before the fall and before he knew it he was dangling from the ledge and couldn't get back up. After a while he finally got back up, but his knee was hurting real bad, luckily some people from Amy's lunch bucket found him and took him back and then drove him back up to Tiptop (the inn). The next day Sherry Hawkenfield arrived at the airport and went to Tiptop to talk to Qwill. When she got there she and her friend John Lumpton talked to Qwill for a while. Then Qwil started hearing scratching noises and found it was Koko, trying to get a ball of red hair underneath the hunt board. Qwill got it out for him and realized everything. John Lumpton was J.J.'s murderer. So he took it back in to the living room and before h knew it John came at him with a Queen Anne chair but Qwill wrestled him to the floor with a candlestick holder. It was all over in a matter of one night and after he phoned the police he left the next morning saying, "Whe did I ever come to the potatoes?"

Erik-Eagle Strike

I am currently reading Eagle Strike.It talks about a 14 year old spy named Alex Rider.Who is on vacation and recognizes an enemy who bombs a building.So far I've read like 37 pages and the author Anthony Horowithz really likes to build suspense in his books.This book is awesome and I really recomend it

Paola-Party Princess

The book I finished reading is about Mia Thermopolis , a princess. She wants to achieve self-actualization but is always messed up somehow. Her grandmother always seems to embarrass or annoy Mia somehow, like by putting a play about her ancestress and making her preform it. She has a mom, a step-dad, a baby brother , a mean grandma , a college boyfriend, and lots of friends. Mia also broke the school's government budget. The book really is about being confident and yourself. I really like the whole Princess Diary series, they are funny and cool. Meg Cabot is an awesome author!

Ben-Bunnicula

I am currently reading Bunnicula. Bunnicula is a very good book it is about a kid named Pete who wins a contest and he gets to meet his favorite author who is M.T. Graves. The author wants to meet all his pets. He has a dog named Harold, a cat named Chestor, a puppy named Howie, and a rabbit named Bunnicula. The author has a pet crow named Edgar allan crow. M.T. Graves  crow makes an e-mail saying that he  want a salad next to his bed and Bunnicula's cage next to his bed.

Taylor-Eclipse

I am currently reading Eclipse. Eclipse is the third book in the vampire love saga. The main character Bella is dating Edward Cullen of the Cullen vampires. Her best friend Jake doesn't approve of their relationship. Edward doesn't approve of her relationship with Jake because he is a werewolf. Were wolfs and vampires are mortal enemies. This is an awesome book and I do recommend it.

The Vile Village

The book I'm reading is exciting. It's about three kids who's parents died in a fire.Their parents left behind a fortune for them. Now Mr. Poe is trying to find a guardian for the violet who is the oldest,Klaus who is a reader, and Sunny who is a biter. Mr. Poe found out that a village can be a guardian. That means that the citizens in the village are all their guardians. The Baudelaire's chose the town of V.F.D. Count Olaf is the bad guy is trying to get his hands on the Baudelaire's fortune. Hector who helps the Baudelaire's gives them a place to stay, but when they are accused of a murder they are sent to jail. The real person who committed the murder was Count Olaf in disguise. The Baudelaire's escaped by one of Violet's inventions. While they escaped Hector made a hot air balloon. The Baudelaire's tried to escape from the village but before they could escape Count Olaf cut the ladder up the balloon.

Alma/ Make lemonade

   Right now I'm reading Make Lemonade. In this book there's a girl who has two little kids. The girl's name is Jolly and her kids' names are Jilly and Jeremy. Jolly needs a baby-sitter really bad, so she a girl named LaVaughn takes the job. When she goes to the house she finds out the mom is only seventeen years old! The family lives in a small apartment. The apartment looks like it's about to fall down.

    LaVaughn says some thing hurtful to Jolly, I think she should have not said that. Now Jolly doesn't want her to baby-sit her kids. But LaVaughn says everything is going to be okay. It's getting very interesting.                                      

     This book ends really good. Jolly is about to finish school, LaVaughn has different jobs now. 

Leslie-The Rising star of Rusty Nail

My book is called The Rising Star Of Rusty Nail it is about a girl named Franny and she is in a piano contest with this other girl named Nancy. They are doing this contest for a special visitor named Eunice Grimes. Franny think that if the visitor like one of the girls performances she would take one of them back to Washington D.C. and take her on tour around the world. But, the visitor didn't say much and then left. part two is about the same girl, Franny, but this time a guy named Charles brings a lady from Russia. The people is Rusty Nail don't like Russian people. Franny hears the Russian lady playing the piano and she asked if she could teach Franny how to play the piano. The lady doesn't want to until Franny offers to do some chores around the house. If Franny did the chores around the house Monday -Thursday on Friday she would teach her a lesson. Franny did do the chores and the Russian did teach her a lesson, but the lesson was about how the string function and how they work and what special names the strings had. Franny didn't really care about that so the next week Franny does the other chores. That week the Russian Lady found out that there was a competition somewhere and anybody that could play the piano could go to compete. So Franny decides to go. So on Friday when they are doing the lesson the door bell rings Franny goes and answers it, there in the doorway stood Nancy the girl that Franny hated. Franny calls the Russian Lady to go to the door. then The lady said " Oh, hi Nancy, I forgot I was expecting you today. This is Franny and I will be teaching you to go to the competition". Then Franny got mad at The Russian Lady and left in anger. Days after Franny thought about what see did see thought," How could I let down a big offer like this, this could be a great chance to show that she is better than Nancy". So the next day Franny went to apologize to The Russian Lady and after a bit of time the big day came, the day of the competition. At the end of the competition the announcers announced the winner Franny was pretty sure she was going to win but her expectations were wrong Nancy won! :( They returned to Rusty Nail tire and disappointed. So I think I have told you enough the rest you will have to read by your self.

Luciano-Journey To The Center Of The Earth

I am currently reading Journey To The Center Of The Earth by Jules Verne.

It is a great book. It is about a scientist and his nephew, who embark on a journey to the Earth's core, after decoding a message left by a 15th century  Icelandic professor. Currently, they are in Iceland, going to to a crater near Mount Sneffels, a dormant volcano, where the supposed entrance to the center of the earth is located. I am looking forward to the rest of the novel.

The sea of monsters is a very interesting book. I'm a fan of Rick Riordan's books.This book had me on the edge of my seat. This book is mythology and fantasy based.Percy and the Olympians have to save Thalia's tree because it was poisoned.

Johnny- Captain Underpants and the preposterous Plight of the purple potty people

George and Harold do all kinds of weird stuff they get in all sorts of trouble      They use the purple potty again for the second time which they are not suppose to which makes things go very very bad for them George and Harold meet there evil twin and Captain Underpants meets his evil twin captain blunderpants

Sandra-Who will tell my brother?

This book I'm reading is about a boy who wants to find out who he is. To tell the truth right now its kind of boring. All that has happened is that he is trying to change the school mascot, which his brother has tried but did not succeed. Also, his uncle has just passed away. His parents have gone on a trip to Canada to try to find his great-grandparent's graves. Its hard for him because since he is trying to change the school mascot everyone is treating him bad and not talking to him because they think he does not have the right to change it.

Well I'm done with this book now. After you get to the end the book gets better. So now I think the book was pretty good. Since every one was mad at him some one came and killed his dog named Butch. The hole family was sad but most of all him, because he was blaming himself for the death of his dog. He gets accepted to college. Then at graduation there was some kids that come on the field running with a banner in hand, and most of his classmates sit, remove their caps place them in their laps and bow their head in knowing that what they see does not make them proud.

*Kelby--The Luckiest Girl

I started reading a book called "The Luckiest Girl" a little bit ago and so far its been good. Its about a sixteen year old girl named Shelley who wants a change before her Junior year. Her wish came true when her mother's old roommate offered to have Shelley stay with her family for the school year. Shelley really wanted to go and after some persuading from her and her dad, her mother said yes. So Shelley went to California. The only thing she wasn't looking forward to was Katie. A thirteen year old who was always going through a "stage", according to her mom. But Shelley ended up having a good time at school when the basketball star is smiling at her, which makes all the other girls jealous. This sounds like a really good book and I'm looking forward to finishing it!

This book is getting really good. Shelley is having fun in California. Even though Katie is a little snoopy and blunt.. She's not that bad. Katie actually kind of helps Shelley. For instance, Katie told her that she had a surprise for her. So they rode their bikes to the "surprise", and it was Phillip. He was the basketball star that Katie likes. At first Katie was mad because she thought that Phillip would think that she was following him, but when Phillip asked Shelley if he could come over that night she didn't really think she should get mad at Katie. I think her and Shelley will get very close over the school year. I  think Katie looks up to her and Shelley enjoys Katie admiring her. I would highly recommend this to girls that are thinking it looks interesting because it is a great book!

I am reading Evil Star by Anthony Horowitz . So far, all i have read is that the main character is named Matt and apparently he is one of 5 that are destined to destroy gates through which the old ones travel.(sorry if my blog is a little sketchy, but i didn't read the 1st book. i started with the second one accidentally.)Matt has, excuse me, had,a crazy aunt that tried to suicide bomb his school with a petrol tanker truck. But because Matt has special powers, he foresaw his aunt doing what she did and saved everyone in the school from a fiery death.In the 1st book, he destroyed the 1st gate. Because this is the 2ND book, i believe he will open the second gate.Now, Matt is in Peru and while he is there, his best friend, Richard, is kidnapped while hey are on their way to a hotel to meet someone named Fabian, and Matt is beat up. while he is passed out from being beat up, a kid named Pedro tries to rob him. Eventually Pedro and Matt become friends and Matt goes to where he lives and discovers that Pedro is also another one of 5 meant to destroy gates.Eventally,the suspense builds with a series of deaths and break ins. Iam not going to tell you how it ends buti will say that the main villain dies but his evil plot still goes through, and matt gets a coma and Pedro gets a broken ankle.

Griselda/Make Lemonade

I am reading the book Make Lemonade. The author of this book is Virginia Wolff B0A LaVaughn needed a part-time job.A job that she could do after school and help her raise money for college. Jolly needed a babysitter One that she could trust with two kids while she's at work.It didn't matter that LaVaughn was three years younger than Jolly.It didn't matter that Jolly didn't have husband or parents because LaVaughn gives Jolly and her kids more love and understanding than should be possible for a fourteen-year old

Jolly doesn't have an education, and now more than ever she needs to have one. She has struggled getting a job and if she doesn't find one fast she will loose her home...

Zachery-epidemics and plagues

I'm reading a book called epidemics and plagues. It's very interesting because it has information about diseases. For example the black death (the bubonic plague), yellow fever, malaria, the white death (tuberculosis), and small pox. I think that if you like reading about diseases you will like reading this book. It's easy to read because it is an 8th grade level book. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

Justice-Book of a thousand days

Book of a Thousand Days is such a great book its about a girl (named Dashti) and she is poor and works for a gentry or royal blood.And they get locked away in a tower for seven years. The gentry won't talk to the Khan so she has her maid do it for her. Her love gives them a cat to get rid of the mice/rats in the cellar. The maid thinks she's falling in love with the gentry's love. They finally escape from the tower. The gentry doesn't want to go see Khan Tegus and she said she doesn't want to see her father because he won't have her and she won't have him. So Dashti is trying to figure out where they're going to go.Well she lied to the Khan said she was Lady Saren. Now she's going to give herself to Lord Khasar.

Lizzy- The Curse of the Campfire Weenies and other warped and creepy tales

I have been reading this book called The Curse of the Campfire Weenies and Other Warped and Creepy Tales by David Lubar. It has about thirty-five stories in it. Each story is about two pages long, and they are about different creepy or scary things. The reading level is only 3.8 but I thought I could take advantage of not having a reading goal yet. It is five points. I thought that it would be a funny book because of the cover, but it's just what the title says:warped and creepy tales. Today I read a story about internet predators. The girl said she met a boy and they had a lot in common. Though both parents wouldn't like them to meet, so they snuck out at night. You would think that the girl would get hurt but the boy does. She's a vampire. That's just one of the stories. You have to read this book!

Leading With the Heart

I'm currently reading the book written by Coach Mike Krzyzewski. It tells his story of what to do to be successful. He uses his experiences as examples to suggest ideas on how to find success. The book has loads of interesting anecdotes and stories about his career. A good read for anyone who wants to know what it takes to be the best.

I am currently reading The Legend of Bass Reeves by Gary Paulsen. It's one of this year's Golden Sower books. Bass Reeves is a young black slave in the 1700s who earns his freedom playing poker against his owner. That's as far as I have read at this point. It's a great book so far--Gary Paulsen is always a winner!

Playing for Pizza

I will be honest this book is a little of a stretch for me. My selections have been more sports history nonfiction.

I have just started this book so I'm undecided on how I will like it. I have heard good reviews about Playing for Pizza, and of course enjoy other John Grisham's stories.

Rick Dockery is a journeyman quarterback in the NFL. His last stop in Cleveland may end his chances in the NFL. To escape his problems and continue to play football, Rick ends up in Parma, Italy. No big contracts the Italian players actually play for passion of the game and yes free pizza after the game.

I really have enjoyed learning about the culture of Italy as I read this book. I also love the passion to play the game that the Italians have. The book really fits with another book I read Take Two and Hit it to Right, about town team baseball in Southwest Nebraska. In both books their is a passion to play the game, not about how much money I'm making or that I have to do this because of parents or friends. To play for passion, enjoyment, I hope Rick learns this Parma, Italy.

Passion or love of sport, this idea is starting to stand out for me. "We talking about practice-not a game-practice" is a quote by Allen Iverson about then coach Larry Brown not happy with the way Allen showed up for practice. In the last few pages I have read the Italians have shown up for practice about 1 hour and half early. They go through their own pre-practice routines, and get themselves ready for practice. This all coming after they have been at work all day. Do our professional athletes still play with this much passion? How about Manny being Manny?

I have finished this book and would list it as one of my favorites. The book was really hard to put down the last 75 pages. I was wondering if Rick would ever figure out what it was like to play for passion not as a job. I'm not going to ruin the book for anybody that wants to read it so I will not tell you how it ends. Does Rick help his Parma team win the Superbowl of Italy or does he bolt to the Canadian Football League for $100,000 and a chance to get back into the NFL.

It's a great book.
